I'm really looking for a year or less upgrade, but would consider something in the 18 month ballpark. And if the job was an immediate LA base, I might push to 2 years...maybe.

Thanks.
1 year, 18 months, 2 years, what the hell is the difference (and don't anyone say time) Are you gonna drop dead in 3 years or something? I would be careful chasing something like. Upgrade time and stability are such a moving target in this industry and more than a few folks have been burned chasing an upgrade.

I am pretty sure you meet the requirements for Ameriflight's 99s, and probably the 1900s and Metros.

Default Insurance Requirements for PIC

Exactly, you can always log PIC as long as you are in the left seat performing the duties. You can use that time to fill in some boxes in your log book to get what will make your INSURANCE company happy. The company you are working for may not care you are doing it, but I would check with the chief pilot. I got my OK out of talking about getting rid of my "SOE LIM". The purpose of logging the flight time is not for going to another airline or anythign like that, it is solely for the purpose of satisfying insurance requirements in the 91/135 world.

If 2 years is too long for you then you are in the wrong business IMO. You will never survive a downturn. No offense intended, just an observation.

I am not sure where you are getting information about MESA being 3.5 years to upgrade. I know guys that upgraded in 2 yrs, many FO choose not to upgrade that fast for better schedules.

Ok guys, let me clarify...I've already logged 3.5 yrs at a regional, and frankly it's time to bail. I am not willing to start the process over again at another regional carrier and wait another 2-3 yrs+ for an upgrade. Im not being lazy or unwilling to put in the time for 4 stripes, I already have. So either there is a quick PIC Turbine job out there or there isn't. If there is, I would be very greatful for the info, if there isn't, I'm moving to Boston to become a hot dog vendor.

My information is accurate. No one has upgraded in 2 years in the jet in recent times. The most senior FO waiting for either jet upgrade class right now has been at the company over 3.5 years.

TSA http://www.transstates.net/
Upgrade time taken down to 2000TT with a 500 hr credit for time in type (ERJ145), 1500TT for company FO's. TSA is getting short on captains, and they will be looking for people like you soon. And you will fly 95hr/month.

And there is always GO JETS ...

You could be a street captain if you want to move to Boston. Instant turbine PIC.
