Thanks, but Mesa's upgrade on a jet is 3.5+ years right now.

ANYONE ELSE? Perhaps I should mention, I am NOT necessarily looking for a regional airline job, but ANY job (I just posted in this forum to get all your thoughts...I figured someone might have heard something.)

Thanks

I agree I hope CAL learned its lesson with CHQ, and just wait for the Colgan debacle. but well see I hope we dont lose the flying...........

2 years right now for Skywest, which is still a bit too long. Plus in all likely hood, with all the hiring they've done, it will be more than 2 yrs in 2 yrs from now.

I'm really looking for a year or less upgrade, but would consider something in the 18 month ballpark. And if the job was an immediate LA base, I might push to 2 years...maybe.

Thanks.

I honestly couldn't, they are my companies competition, and they are always flying hard core. 10 hour 135 flight time, 10 hours to bring it home... always at the "pilot's discretion".... yeah right. You'll get some hours all right. Sorry I dont have any more information on them. Look into air ambulance companies you'll crank it out.

2500+ TT and over 2000 multi turbine, but no turbine PIC.

Thanks!
Well, this is a very dangerous question. I have been in this business for about 8 years. I quickly learned on the morning of 9/11 that the only thing for certain in this biz is yesterday. Beware of chasing an upgrade time or base. Do as you wish but beware.

Also, I don't mean to be a jerk but you don't have all that much time. I hope you find a quick upgrade but expecting an upgrade in less than a yr with no prior pic is pretty ballsy. In the end sitting 4.5 yrs in the right seat due to 2001 was the best thing that happened to me.

The Brasilia at Skywest is around 6 months right now if you've got the times. California bases. Last awarded jet CA' were about a year and a half. Other that your goals are unrealistic unless you sell yourself out for the PIC time.

He does have a good point. Where ever you go, you will need PIC turbine, so get a PIC rating when they rate you. Period. That way you can ride left seat on the dead legs. That's how I did it. I'm fairly low hours also, but if you earn that left seat with the captains they will let you sit there as long as you have the rating to log it. Don't quote me on the regs here, but I KNOW you can log it as PIC if you have the PIC Rating

Whoever "signs" for the airplane is the one who can log it as PIC, of course you have to be types in at as well

Thanks a lot for this input. I will look into both of those companies as well as the Air Ambulence route, and I will also keep your second post in mind.

Outside of 121 you can still log it since you are sole manipulator. Where you run into the problem is whether or not an operator will accept that time as PIC. With the vast majority of airlines, the answer is a no.
