They will put you in Key West and then you will commute or move anyway. By the way I hope you have a CFI because the PFT guys will be learning how to fly and by that I mean basics. You won't get paid to instruct though. Not to mention you will be stuck there for a while because you won't just walk in to a major.

They are currently not hiring street captain but will be hiring roughly 20 soon. Gulfstream is not alot of fun to deal with but you get alot of hours very quickly and if you have the 1500 tt (especially with jet time) your chances are good. As far as the northeast thing, supposedly the corprate part of the deal is done, now come the logistics of staffing and what not. As far as getting TPA captain slot you have a fairly good chance, I believe they cant even fill the captain slots there. PBI is a different question, but the way there is a mass exodus from the "stream" priorities might change by tomarrow. The only plus I can say for Streamers is that everyone shares a common hate for the company, and most of the pilots are really cool. But you will quickly hate the company but if your after 1000pic then you will have it less than a year out of OE. Many captains from the stream are going to SW, Spirit, and some international 135 like Miami Air. TPA is one of the better bases so good luck.

I'm pretty sure their (the pilots who left) QOL is better than at 9E. But this is only because a lot of them live in South FL. I have no idea what the schedules are like. My opinion is if you have a chance to get PIC time quickly and G-stream is the answer, then have at it. One guy I know went from 1900 CA to 767 int'l at CAL and that was his first jet. Good luck to you.

your right...him being an ioe captain on the 1900 and a captain on the emb-120 and getting his pic time and then applying to a major had nothing to do with it. yes he had connections to help get him the job as do most people, but he still needed pic time to meet the quals.
