It's good to hear some EMB 120 talk. It's a rare thing with all you RJ guys out there. I start on the Bro next month and the info is great!
And yes I will be below you. Someone has to be on the bottom, even if it is only for a month.

The RJs didn't have FMS when SkyWest first got them back in the 90s. Came several years later I believe.

With all the hiring going on you will not be at the bottom long. I have moved up the list at a good steady rate! Welcome aboard and if you have any questions about class or the BRO I will be happy to help you out! See you out on the line before you know it!

Jeez, thanks for info on Skywest SFO/LAX being a reserve only base. And yes, I know in 121 you can't insist on any domicile, but a junior reserve base that anyone could get looks very unappealing to me even if its my home town, even when I've got my housing costsl completely taken care of here.....I don't want to move or commute (done that a long time ago), and couldn't afford regional pay anywhere in the country, much less SFO.

There's got to be a better way to get back into flying than to move somewhere else or commute....it sent shivers down my spine when I read one of the posts about a bunch of new hire RJ pilots living in a used RV out by the dunes near LAX.

Welcome. The 120 is great! Compaired to the RJ, it's twice the work for the same or less pay! The plane is great and you'll get respect from SOCAL and NOCAL aproach, unlike the RJ guys

Hi!

Horizon is a better regional than SkyWest.

AWAC is also a great option. They USED to be the best.

SkyWest IS very good, and it helps that they can raid guys from Mesa/Grt Lakes/TSA, etc.

PS-The pilot hiring situation will be MUCH worse in 6 months, MUCH MUCH worse in 12, and about unimaginable in 18-36 mos.
Ab-Initio is coming!

Well that was a downer. I was stoked to be heading to SKYW next month, but now since you provided a baseless opinion with absolutely no foundation on which it is formed, I have changed my mind. What have I done, I KNEW I should have gone to Horizon or AWAC instead of SkyWest.
