The first three responses to your question were replies directly related to the topic at hand. The next few comments were regarding your apparently complete inability to make comments related to the current discussion. ToiletWater accused you of babbling, but I'm not quite convinced that that's what you were doing. Do you know why? It's because I have no idea what you were trying to say, so I don't know if it could be classified as babbling!

In the original question, did you mean the Republic that flies the 170/175 or RAH the company?
As for all that nonsense about PIC time...do you happen to have a translator handy?

Ok, I'll try not to be the "arrogant American" pilot that you accused us of being in another thread and figure out what you were asking.
I think you confused shackone's concept of training to be a captain with logging 121 PIC time. There is a lot more to being PIC than the operation of the airplane that you learn in initial training. While you may be exposed to these concepts, generally they are not taught in detail to new FOs. How to function in the airline's system, how to flight plan for high altitude turbojet operations, how to quickly work the system to get an on-time departure with less than favorable situations, how to deal with being in command of a flight crew (most newbs have never dealt with an FA before). Those qualities and other tricks of the trade are what FOs need to practice before time comes to upgrade. It has nothing to do with logging PIC time. It has everything to do with passing upgrade, not getting fired, and not killing yourself, your crew, or your pax. After you pass the upgrade, you can worry about getting towards that 1000 turbine PIC.

Upgrade time is fairly low and will likely go down. However, things can change overnight in the regional market. These are what I call "growth upgrades." People are moving up because the company is growing, not because people are leaving. Chasing the growth upgrade, in my opinion, is risky because by the time the 2 years or less are up, the growth may be done, or the company may even be shrinking or bought out!
If you're completely concerned about upgrade first and foremost, I'd chase an "attrition upgrade." When people are leaving a place in droves, that is likely to continue, with only minor slowing if the market takes a dump. Why? No one wants to stay at such airlines. However, such airlines will make you want to chuck the whole career by the wayside on occasion...
Just my own personal opinion and take on it...some stuff to think about, good luck.

That's good...hope that it continues for you guys, and you keep moving on up. I was just saying that attrition tends to happen slower at good regionals, if one is concerned solely about upgrade.
