The rollaboard

Get the Purdy Neat...it's worth it. Since you'll be feeling broke after that, buy this flight case. Lots of guys using them:

For $30, it will last you as long as anything else, and fits perfectly. I'm definitely upgrading to a Scott at sometime in my career, but $1000 is too much to spend right off the bat at my airline, anyway.

If you can't get the best, get the worst...and throw it away when it breaks. If you get something middle-of-the-road it will still break but it's too expensive to sh*t-can so you will have to get an extra rollaboard to use when your regular rollaboard is in the shop for repairs (about twice a year).
