Anyway- for Higney- the tool comment was just a poke in good fun. Hope that it didn't hurt your feelings. And yes, I was in class at 9E for about 3 weeks. Then XJT called, so I dropped everything and made a mad dash for IAH. Never made it out of training at 9E, and after reading the work rules- I'm glad I didn't. But then again, it's all relative. One man's trash is another man's treasure. I really do hope you guys get a better contract, for every airlines' sake. I also hope Phil Trenary gets diarrhea from drinking the water in his office- that guy's a snake.

Raising the big B.S. flag on that one! Please tell me what regional airline is going to pay the equivelent of $2150 /mth, or $25,800/yr while in training? Hummmmmm ($2150 x .26% (tax bracket)= $1591).

Let me get this straight. According to you, someone is going to make MORE $ while in training than he will once finished with OE!? Yea, right....finish training and take a pay cut?!

PCL pay 1st yr is $21/hr @ 75 hr guarantee = $1575 BEFORE TAXES, x 12 mths = $18900/yr.

It's illegal to smoke that stuff.......

I don't understand where the confusion is.. The math you presented is correct, except you even gave PCL a pay raise (First year is only 20.73) but we are splitting hairs. You will get 1600 a mo, guarantee comes out to about 1450 after taxes without deductions for benefits or 401K, and without perdiem. My rsv perdiem averaged 400/mo without breaking guarantee. As a line holder I am crediting right at 100 hrs, plus about 500/mo per diem. With that my take home is about $2K/mo after taxes, benes, and 10% 401K deduction. That is first hand. The fact still remains that training pay will be better than initial pay on the line, especially if you aren't flying (i was a rsv guy when we were super short handed). The difference really shows up when you are a commuter b/c you have no commuting expenses in training (crashpad). Plus you get bonuses. All I can say is that the only way to juice up the offer more is a contract.

and what is the flag for. Hide your stupidity man. you get 400 a week during training. the company pays that as perdiem. so every friday you will get a check for 400 dollars. no tax taken out or anything (it is paid as perdiem, and i am sure you know what that is). so you just get a flat out check for 400 dollars. that is 1600 a month. on the line after taxes, medical, and all the other stuff your take home with just the minimum gaurantee is about 700 bucks. paid 2 times a month that is 1400 dollars. please, if you cant add then get out of the business now.

now i remember you... hahaha your the not so bright guy who said i was wrong about the nwa benefits and then quoted me word for word.

No signup fee anymore. You, spouse, and kids fly free ($32.50 in first class). Employee parents fly for a set charge. Companions CAN fly by themselves, BUT, only to a hub to meet you. You must go with them if you are flying anywhere else.

As for "some NWA guys" selling passes, some employees in the Philippines were selling them ( mainly to those going to Hawai) and not telling that they would be standby only. The buyers then got very irate when they were denied boarding because of full loads. Unescorted companions were the last boarded, just ahead of ID 90 holders from other airlines.

That was rich!

That was freaking funny,, it was almost like you copy and pasted what i wrote about the benefits, and then said i was wrong... ahahahahahah so you really need to think before you speak, you have never been right on this board.

When I was in training I received $200 a week, total during training was around $1900. I was reminded of this on my 1099 from PNCL b/c I was employed as a "contractor". I never knew you could be a "contractor" while being paid to go through a training program- but that is how they doc the $$. It is "designed" to be per-diem, but you will get hit up for 15% worth of self-employment tax on your next W-2. With that being said, I used it to my advantage to "deduct" all the things I had to purchase for the job- such as my headset, flight bag, etc. Hope that clears up the issue. And just for giggles- I just got done from my 3-day that was supposed to end 9 hours ago! I got extended... At least I got a little 150% pay out of it, but work is not on my good list at the moment.
