Hi!
To answer the question of how much multi time is required, the answer is a BIG, FAT 0!
All you need is enough time to get your Comm-MEL.
Here's the latest from the Pinnacle website:
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
1000 hours total flight time (Preferred)
200 hours multi-engine time (Preferred)
100 hours instrument (max 20 hours simulator - Preferred)
Part 121 Operation Experience (Preferred)
Commercial pilot certificate with a multi-engine airplane and instrument rating
ATP or ATP-Written
Current First class medical with First Class Privileges
Valid passport
Valid driver's license
FCC license
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Minimum age 21
High school diploma
"Improvements" In Pilot Compensation:
New Incentives become effective with classes beginning in June.
Increased training pay of $400 per week/$1600 per month, plus
company-paid hotel accommodations.
$750 bonus after successful completion of OE.
$500.00 bonus awarded after six months of continuous Pinnacle
service (current incentive in place).
Optional Health insurance program with coverage during training
offered by GoldenRule, a United Healthcare company that provides
basic medical coverage until company benefits take effect after OE
check ride and 90 days of formal employment. (More information is
available at goldenrule.com.)
New preferential pilot interview agreement with Delta.
Non-revenue passes available for personal travel during any extended
break while in training.
Crew bases in only three cities Detroit, Memphis and Minneapolis-St.
Paul all with reasonable costs of living.
Two ways to expedite promotion from First Officer to Captain in as
little as 16-18 months
o Beginning in July 2007, new Captain mentoring program
allows for Captain upgrade after 2000 flight hours (including
1500 hours in a Pinnacle CRJ)
o Revised Captain upgrade standards, with a minimum of 3500
total flight hours or 2500 hours in a RJ in combination with
1000 hours in a Pinnacle CRJ.
Outstanding suite of company health, retirement and travel benefits
for all employees.
The Referral Program:
Beginning with the first June 2007 pilot training class and in the subsequent
training classes while the program is in effect, Pinnacle will pay employees a referral bonus for each new hire pilot you refer to the company. Bonuses
will be tied to pilot experience, with the following payout schedule:
Tier Total Time (TT) Bonus Amount
Tier 1 600-1000 TT hours $1000
Tier 2 1001-1500 TT hours $1200
Tier 3 1500+ TT hours $1500
Premium Bonus Any pilot new hire with CRJ type rating generates an additional $1500 payout.
The referral bonus is contingent upon the pilots successful completion of
his/her OE.
Individual making the referral must have their name printed on the
candidates application at the time of submittal.
For more information refer to the employee website @ www.nwairlink.com.
They're trying to figure out how to make the job sound good enough to cover the new Delta flying. They can't cover their EXISTING flying now, so covering that AND the Delta connection flying, with the pilot supply deteriorating weekly, will be a huge challenge.

The only wet Commercial/Inst/ME pilots hired at around 250 hours are the Jet University folks.
Pinnacle's newest bridge standards are 400TT (exception of Jet U as stated above).
You'll note that on AllATPs website, most Pinnacle pilots through the RJ course have at least 350-400TT and 100ME.
But if you are directly off the street, no prior CRJ course, expect the mins to be around 500-600TT and 50-100ME.

Do you work at PNCL? If you only go by what you read by people who don't even work at a company you do not know any more than the media.... and we all know how correct the media is...
I have been here long enough to almost be off probation and also to know there are plenty of flaws, yet the job and the co-workers are great. The contract is a drawn out chess game, right now we have mgmt in "check".

Don't you have at least 4 months of probation left?
Maybe you enjoy it because you've been sitting reserve in MEM where they have 40 reserves so you never fly. I'm guessing you've never flown more than 75hours, got extended, or junior manned?
How is it a great job when you have a 13 hour duty day with reduced rest followed by another 12 hours of duty.
If you think Pinnacle is anywhere close to a contract you are mistaken.
Pilot group may be great, but the job sure ain't.

What I love is that you don't know me, have no idea what I have worked, my experience, etc. Yes I have been JM'd. If you don't answer the phone when off it doesn't happen though. Yes, I have been extended. And Yes I have had 13 hour duty days, and flown much more than 75 hours in a month. The past few months have been 90+ for me. Say what you wish but if you don't work here or know me how can you criticize. How many people do you know who can hold weekends off after 6 months and no commuting whatsoever. I drive 20 min to work- one heck of a commute. The contract does suck, but PNCL is not a go jets or jet u. The pilot group is great and while the work rules have much to be desired, the contract is being worked on and one thing I can guarantee is that you will not see the group accept a subpar contract. I will admit, if I had to commute i would look at other regionals, but not commuting with the ability to hold pretty good hard lines, and eyeball an upgrade at 18 months is nice. I came in at 1000 hours and should be out of here with 4000 or so in around 3 years with the 1000JPIC. Kinda hard to find that elsewhere. Its paying your dues. I am not sure if the "tool" comment or the "PFT comment" was directed towards me, but if so I would be curious to know what grounds that has just because I work for an ALPA carrier and got hired after instructing for 2 years with nowhere close to a PFT background. The tool comment would be a pure viewpoint, but it shows alot of maturity to say that just because of where someone works. As I recall didnt CL65driver work for PCL in the past? (for some reason I am remembering that thread)
