Easy tiger. I made no assumptions. Period. When I said guys like you, it was referring to a quote from yourself wanting to bypass the Saab upgrade for a jet. There are too many guys here at XJ who tried playing that game (and yes, it is a game) with the AVRO and ended up getting burned. My previous post was not intended to flame you, just trying to give a newbie like yourself a little lesson of XJ history. Sounds like you've got it all figured out though.
I agree, so why are guys bypassing the upgrade with all that history waving in there face. I realize everyone has there goals but.....

Call it what you like. It's not a game. Many people choose to wait for whatever reason and they have the right to do so. Whether it works out or not, it's their choice and they don't need you to point out the obvious.

Ftrooppilot, can you explain what you mean by that. I am curious what you mean by that. On Compass thread, I am seeing a fast deterioration of Compass pilot morale primarily due to management not carrying through with their promises. A lot of them are flying very little. As little as 5 days total for the month.

Hypothetical question, and I know I'm getting ahead of myself but.....
If the upgrade continues to be 2 months, would they be forward thinking enough to put the people with ATP mins into Saab classes rather than Jet classes. It seems like one could end up completely jet training only to be awarded Saab captain and start training all over again. Kind of an expensive training cost.....

Also, Crew planning has the ability to "preview" the awards. For whatever reason, they don't publish them now (I think there was an ALPA e-mail a while back about no published previews). This was no surprise to Mesaba, since all they have to do is query the preference bids to "preview" what the awards will look like. They knew it was going to happen. I am sure there will be discussions about releasing seat locks and how to handle new hires with ATP's or ATP mins. Although, releasing seat locks could turn out to be just as costly as training new hires in two different aircraft, back-to-back.
It is certainly an interesting time. You guys played your cards just right by getting onboard when you did. Smart move! I do feel a little bad for the junior captain though, I think he is going to get to be very familiar with being on reserve.

That was a little different situation...involuntary downgrade has a different set of rules.

Thanks for that input. Your input is appreciated always. My question to you is that people below me in seniority got listed for the SF3 upgrade list and my name was not albeit they have Bypassed after their names. Do you think it is because I listed SF3 CA below CRJ CA in my Preference Bid?

I PMed you on this just now. Thanks.
