Just relax. Very friendly people, know basic IFR, have some good TMAAT stories. Just show them you want the job. They are pretty much looking to see if they would be able to handle sitting with you on a 3 day trip. Good Luck!

I am most nervous about the sim, I have to practice the NDB stuff this week, but that is what is making me nervous!!

Just point the NDB needle straight up to 360 and whatever you do, don't change your heading after you've accomplished that. Figure out where you are and then enter the hold. Easy as a pie. That will get you through the interview but you'd better figure out the NDB b/c you'll have to fly those at XJ with people's lives in your hands.

push the head, pull the tail. The whole thing is on a HSI...it's alot easier than doing NDB approaches in a C-152. I worried to much about NDB stuff myself, it was easy and I hadn't done one in probably over a year.

Edit: this is in the sim training, not the interview.

thanks for the tips, keep them coming if anyone has anymore! And what is the best hotel to stay in the night before the interview? Do most have a shuttle that will take you to Mesaba?

I got an ILS on my interview...no NDB. But like other guys have said, just brush up on it. Its primitive, but that actually makes it pretty easy to use. You will need it in the SF-340 but we are actually prohibited from doing NDB approaches in the CR9...just FYI!

Does Mesaba fly 3 day trips, or is it the usual 4 day like everyone else?

Hey, does anyone know, for logbook purposes is the CR9 model number CL-65 or CL600-2D24? Does it even matter? On my temp type cert it says CL-65, but in the manual, its CL-600-2D24.

System wide
1 day 11%
2 day 56%
3 day 33%
4 day 19%
2 day trips include highspeeds

varies a bit by domicle/aircraft but the highest percentage is MSP with 25% of the CRJ trips being four day trips.

Hope this helps.

Your logbook is really for your reference in compliance with the flight time recording requirements. If you want to be nit-picky, 14CFR61 does say aircraft TYPE. Therefore, your type designation is technically correct. I have seen peoples logbooks over the years and have seen all versions of any "aircraft designation" you can imagine! To each his own. Nobody is going to grade your logbook. (I think some prefer to log CR9 or CR7 or CRJ just to deferentiate between models.) Just as I have seen, SF-340, SF3, Saab, S340B, etc. etc...
