That's interesting. I thought an airline could have a lot more flexibility with schedules if all its CRJ pilots could fly all the different versions the airline flies. Does anyone know any drawbacks to this, or advantages to keeping a pilot -200 or -900 specific?

I'm in there too...October 8th, CRJ-900. Can't wait!
I emailed HR last week with a few questions I didn't think of in the interview. One of them was if the company had some sort of deal where we could payroll deduct a chart case and headset, and/or if any discounts were available through the airline for things like that and a carry-on, or if I would do just as well going retail. Here is the response I got.
"The aircraft all have their own headsets so you don’t need to purchase any. [and regarding chart case] I would wait until you get here as I’ve believe the 900’s have the digital flight chart option."
Nice! No headset to buy!
HUH?!? Are we getting Electronic Flight Bags? That would be sweet!

Yep all 121 aircraft are required to have headsets on-board for us - but I'd be damn-hard-pressed to use 'em!

Best of luck and stop drinking so much Kool-Aid; you're not even in ground school yet greenhorn. You'll find out soon enough that there are more roomers out there than *********S and Mgmnt starts most of them inorder to pump up their labor groups.

Care to break that down for a newb? Move date? What is that?
Indoc starts on 10/8. Intial on 10/15. Is all the training carried out in Eagan? I've heard something about Montreal or Denver for the sim??

Well... I admit I'm not as informed as RJ85FO (blinders really) but here goes. The Indoc Training is a new hires start date. Initial is for new hires after Indoc AND pilots switching planes. Move date is the date you start at your domicile. If you originally get MEM in training. You want detroit (set it up on mymesaba). After you are awarded Detroit this will be the date you start there.

Move date doesn't really mean anything if you are a new hire going to your very first domicile. It is simply the day you move domiciles if you are changing from one to another.
