Hey I was just wondering if anyone knows if Mesaba is slowing the hiring down any for the holidays or not. It seems like some regionals are starting to slow lately. And how long is the wait time to hear back for an interview? I put in my resume a week ago.

They are mad busy taking applications and working thru the hiring process. We are not slowing down!!!!!! There will be street captians here soon. But don't wait get in, do it now and get that senority number.. Senority, sex and pay are the order of priorities in life
CRJ 200 sim being built should be done by November? and a 900 sim coming soon as well to MSP. DSM is gonna become a FA base, but not a pilot base. I smell big trouble. "Hi Sarah, I'm stuck in the hotel for the night, you got the night off? Great let's get a drink." Yeah this place is getting better by momment Then again I am a glass is half full kind of guy. Speaking of which time for another brew ha ha

FTROOPPILOT: Where will street Captains come from ? Let's see. We need a group of high time Captain qualified pilots, under "contract" to NWA, sitting around, grumbling about not flying or being paid as Captains until they get operational in airplanes they don't have yet. It would be nice if their company HRO and training center was located near (perhaps in) the Mesaba training center. Sounds like COMPASS to me.
I'll stick to my six month old prediction. Mesaba and Compass will merge.

FTROOPPILOT: Didn't your parents ever teach you about love, motherhood, apple pie and the flag ?

FTROOPPILOT: I wonder where the Compass "E" simulator will be built ?

I have another question regarding the Mesaba written (25 questions) given during the interview...
Can anyone confirm for me what I should specifically be studying? I've read most/all of the gouges, but I'm looking for some specifics. So far, I've been told to primarily review IFR chapters in the ATP Gleim. Are they verbatim multiple choice from the Gleim or something else? My friend (@ Mesaba) tells me I'm sweating it over nothing, but after spending a few nights studying all of the ATP Gleim only to find out that I was wasting my time (unless of course I planned on taking the ATP written)...well, it has me sweating. Thanks in advance.

you are sweating the written test way too much. If you want something to look at, there are probably 4 or 5 questions on Jepp's. Really nothing to specific, just the gamit of IFR knowledge. I studied Jepp's, and the ATP written and just browsed through what people has said on gouges and apparently did fine because I'm here. Nothing to lose sleep over, the people are very nice and its a very relaxed interview process. The best advice I read was to take some practice wonderlic tests. It'll give you a heads up and may save you some time on a very brief test. Just come in relaxed and without an attitude and you'll be fine.

got a call for an interview just now.
I'm excited for it, and like everyone says I'm sure its sweating it for nothing, but specifics would always be nice. Hey, we're pilots, we've known the questions to our tests ahead of time since the begining.
Muppets, when's your interview?

Tuesday. My stomach has been in knots for that last week. UGH!
I'm excited, but crazy nervous.
They called today to verify I had no additional questions about the packet I received. That was quite the application...I think it took like 4 hours to complete and I had everything I needed right in front of me.
