Seniority goes by date of hire, then age in the class. Bid for base. Pay is monthly guarantee no per diem in Eagan [Minneapolis], MN. Nobody is hand picked for the jet, so don't get into a pi$$ing match during training like a couple geniuses did.

MAN I'm jealous !! We start systems on Monday. Actually looking forward to it.....I've had it up to my neck on 1 nav/2 nav, duty time, rest time....etc.

Actually I have it from a good authority that the company is going to start to put the new hires with more experience on the Saab, and the low timers will goto the jet. I will omit the stated reasons to avoid ****ing matches here like the one AV8R is talking about.

Also, I met someone who recentely started IOE with less than a full week off after his LOFT...so the wait is coming way down.

Which hotel do you guys recommend staying at for the interview? I fly in on 9/24 for an interview on 9/25 @ 7:30am.

That depends on how much you want to pay but Staybridge Inn and Homestead is one of the hotels that is used by Mesaba. It is a nice hotel with own refrigerator and a microwave. They serve free breakfast. If you want to pay less, Homestead is your choice. It is closer to the Mesaba HQ. where you will be interviewing.

I stayed at the country inn and suites the night before my interview (and wow was that a smart decision to go a day early!). If you tell them you are there with mesaba it'll only be about $55. It's an decent hotel, nothing fancy but it's clean. There is only a McD and a gas station but they are really close.

Another option would be to call Townplace suites in Eagan and ask them if they'll give you the Mesaba rate to an interviewer. Thats where all of the trainees stay and its a great room. I showed up for class a day early and they gave the mesaba rate to me. It was only $52, normally the rooms go for $160+

I would suggest Homestead or Townplace, not because they are super nice, but they both have shuttles going to HQ with new hires on them. Plus the night before you may run into CA upgrades or new hires who may be willing to help you on the interview.

just a thought

Staybridge Inn and Homestead has shuttle service too. Once you are hired, NWA and MESABA uses Spectrum shuttle which shuttles you from the airport to the Mesaba HQ free of charge.
