The punching bag will go to another DCI carrier soon and Mesaba will get good news again.
Thank you Morse. I'm sure you are absolutely right. I'm glad things are turning around for you at Comair, as well as the rest of the DCI's.

So I noticed the latest realignment notice has a net increase of 10 captains with no decrease in FO's. Is this a mistake or am I missing something?

Just Saab Captains moving over to the jet.

**The Company will not award secondary vacancies created as a result of the 10-07 Realignment Award**

Then wouldn't there be a decrease in the number of Saab Captains?

No I do no think that is the only reason. This looks like due to increased flying to CRJ9s and CRJ2s in MSP and MEM, and also due to expected 9 flowthru in August.

If its only due to Saab CAs moving over to jets, Saab CA numbers for those bases would be proportionately decreased by 10. I don't see that on this notice.

If the number of saab captains decreased by ten on the vacancy, those would be displacements; Something they are not doing.

That's my point. Clearly this is not a displacement. This looks like a normal upgrade vacancy announcement. I think a new thread should be started with the title, "Mesaba's Latest Update." No one at Mesaba are newhires anymore.

Then is Detroit losing flying soon? We are extremely short on the 900s here. 7 reserves for 76 flying lines. Every day in July is at or below minimum staffing. Yet the company keeps adding everywhere but here, why?
