Anyone care to post the wording of your flow through? Is it 9 per month or 9 per class?

I think Mesaba's is 9 per month and compass is 20 per month with no more than 25% of their list flowing in a 12 month period, or some sort of restriction like that on compass's I might have the exact wording wrong.

Fine. This might serve as a lesson though, if everyone "thinks" there's probably a fair bet that it would be the truth, though I didn't recall the 10% rule. When Mesaba was an 1100 pilot airline I guess this wouldn't matter, with it trending toward a 600 pilot airline it may begin to matter.
I assume you're a compass pilot? So you could go ahead and post your flow language too to be fair.

The maximum number of Mesaba pilots Flowing Up shall be:
a. ten percent (10%) of the Total Pilot Group over a rolling twelve (12) month period, and
b. no more than nine (9) pilots a month (three (3) pilots per month for the period January 1, 2008 through September 30, 2008).
c. The above-referenced maximums may be exceeded by the consent of the parties, DAL and DAL ALPA.

Calm down killer.

I said thank you before and I will say it again. I was just looking for the actual wording.

I took "I think" for an answer before and they guy said 9 per class.

It's 9 per month but it also has a provision for skipped months, so if they start hiring in june, skip july and have 2 classes in august, then Mesaba gets 9 for 2 classes in august, so it would be in Mesaba guy's favor for Delta to skip months if they're going to hold multiple classes per month.

What is the status of the furloughed, 159? Are there more to come? Is Mesaba getting rid of all the 340's?

Up to this point Delta has returned 100% of the saabs that have come due to the leasor.... so with that track record I wouldn't say it's a stretch to say they're going to park them all. I'm not happy about it but it looks like Mesaba will be a 600 pilot airline in two years.. based on what Delta has done to Comair I guess they just HATE wholly owned regionals?

As for recall... probably not for a long while.

Problem with pilot group is that they put too much emotions to situations such as this. DAL parking Saabs has nothing to do whether DAL hates its WO regional or not. You can't compare Comair situation to Mesaba. Two different scenarios. These are strictly business decisions based on cost and passenger feedbacks. We all knew Saab days were coming to a close when RA said as much in previous interviews that he intends to make XJ an all jet fleet airline by 2012. DAL management have also stated that turboprops do not meet their DAL stds.

That being said, it does not necessarily mean XJ will wind up cutting 50% of its pilot roster, although that is certainly a possibility. I just do not see it happening. Most people at XJ expect to see some replacement of Saabs for jets at some point this year or in 2011.

Additionally, it looks like DAL is poised to hire about 305 pilots this year and 600 to 700 in 2011, so that means a fairly brisk movement of 9 Mesaba pilots a month starting July or August of this year and on to 2011.
