The first day of class you find out your domicile, and aircraft. I believe you can find out your a/c early if you ask.

What?!!!! You can put the seat full forward and pull the rudder pedals all the way towards you and you'll be kissing your knees.

You know I would but...due to a software "enhancement" the award has been delayed until Tuesday. Stay tuned.

Hey RJ, I start training in a few weeks. I have started to review the FOM, anything else I can really do to prepare before I come? Also, is the first week of indoc pretty tough? I hear there is a 100 question test at the end of the week, are they usually multiple choice, or is it like an oral test? Just curious as what to expect thanks.

Dude, you are worrying WAY TOO MUCH!!! Take it as it comes. All tests are multiple choice. Know what they tell you to know and you'll be fine. Those who don't study may fail. Those who fail probably shouldn't be flying ANY airplane. RELAX... I know how it is to be chomping at the bit, but seriously, take it in stride.

Thanks, sorry I'm just excited and nervous at the same time. I just want to pass through ok. I will take your advice and try to relax.

The best thing you can do is TAKE A BREAK! Seriously. You will be presented all you need to know in class. The FOM contains a lot of information that is detail and you don't need to start bogging down by reading it cover to cover. In class, they will present the material in powerpoint presentations and give multiple quiz, worksheet, group activities to help reinforce the topics. You really need to walk in the door with a clear head, ready for a fresh start. Bogging down by trying to pre-study is going to cause you too much stress. If you have your books, just crack them open to see how they are laid out and what kind of information is covered. Save the detail reading for when it is appropriate in class. Let your instructors help you to build a solid foundation first.

There is a test. Multiple choice. Study in the evenings and a few hours on the weekends with some buddies from class and you will be fine. Nothing to worry about.

The most important thing to remember is that Mesaba training department is here to get you through. MANY extra resources available to help you if you ever should have trouble. Don't be afraid to ask for extra help. That demonstrates good judgement, and is not an indicator of ineptitude.

Sit back, relax and enjoy your time off. Come to class refreshed, and ready to sit down and learn, step-by-step.

Good Luck
