Mesaba new hires

DAL has never said it will be an all jet fleet, that is just assumed rumor. If they plan on introducing a new turboprop then that announcement will come later. For DAL to not have a turboprop in the largest airline is foolish. The new ATR is launched on OCT 1st of this year, I'm optimistic that they may purchase this airplane since it has a 50 and 70 variant. It has no mainline scope restrictions and is cheaper to operate than the Q400.

I heard a rumor a while back about the FA's getting trained on the 700. Don't know if Mesaba was told something or if they are just trying to be ready if it happens.

Can everybody get a grip here? We don't know 100% that we're losing the ENTIRE fleet. We know we're losing 23, so why is everyone acting as if we're losing all 49. Between now and 2011 there is lots of time to wait and see what happens with the rest of the fleet. I get that the writing is on the wall, but we never can tell what's around the corner. We have to remember that an airline is a business and if our saabs aren't making money for DL, then it only makes sense to get rid of them. Nobody knows for certain what the economics of the planes in todays environment is. Nobody knows the revenue and yield of all these small markets. Unfortunately, we're just along for the ride and can't do anything about it. Reality check... sometimes the world doesn't always revolve around us pilots.
