At least he had some decency (and I use that term very loosely) to wait until after the holiday. Last year here at Comair, furloughs were announced just a day or two before Thanksgiving, pretty much ruining the holiday for several people.

Hey Mesaba guys
In the reduction awards 09-02, 09-03 furlough date notices, what happend to senrority #'s 1117-1131? There seems to be senority positions not accounted for between the two notices. Anyone know what happend there?

Hey you dont lose your "snap backs" if you fall below a certain number of aircraft do you?
No. From every one(who counts) that I have spoke to about this.(not to mention there is no provision in the contract to subtract aircraft) Also the magic snap back number is 49+36 and it says 85 aircraft(which we will still have on 12/1/2010). So we should get the last snap back and be fully back by next December. Oh wait DAL management probably just read this and is going to get rid of 2 more............

Yeah, they're not getting furloughed. Delta says they can stay

Anyone know the schedule of the next batch of Saab leases to come up? What about 200s?

200s are not going anywhere. The next batch of Saab lease expires sometime in 2010. Stop stressing over this issue because there is something in the works for XJ in 2010. This comes from DAL planning dept. RA of DAL has said numerous times in the past that he intends to turn Mesaba into an all jet fleet by 2012. Looks like he is following through with his plans.

But all jet fleet doesn't mean adding anything.... That might just be the time it will take to return all the saabs.... then look, all jet fleet! Where is this info? Im not saying its not true, but i just havn't seen anything official.

You are way too stressed out, amigo. Relax. Things have a way of working themselves out. You haven't seen anything official because there are no official statements that describes DAL plans. At least not for you and I. As for RA interview, that was done last year and you can google it and should be able to find it. I just don't have the time to dig it out.

Just connect the dots. Mesaba has never been shy about furloughing before, and yet look at the actual numbers of people furloughed so far. Less than 20. Combine that with sources that says expect something positive in 2010. CRJ9s and CRJ2s are making money. I expect to see increased utilization of CRJ9s in 2010.

DAL has never said it will be an all jet fleet, that is just assumed rumor. If they plan on introducing a new turboprop then that announcement will come later. For DAL to not have a turboprop in the largest airline is foolish. The new ATR is launched on OCT 1st of this year, I'm optimistic that they may purchase this airplane since it has a 50 and 70 variant. It has no mainline scope restrictions and is cheaper to operate than the Q400.
