Yea, I didn't even know they could do that. I thought a furlough had to come with an end date.

I'm kind of surprised they aren't giving dates too. Does this count as the notice they are required to give, or does the clock start ticking from when they give you a date.

In other words, could they pull the TBD guys pretty much whenever they want or do they have to give them notice first.

I received a certified letter from Mesaba 30 days before my furlough date with the "official" furlough letter and instructions on how to return my manuals

I would imagine everyone else will get the same

I think its absolute crap for the company to keep stinging the "TBD" furloughs along. How's it going to look in an interview (especially in this job market) when they ask how soon you can start? What are they supposed to say? The company is acting very selfishly about this.

I completely agree! Speaking as someone who is on the list and did have an interview elsewhere, I don't think they were overly excited when I told them I could only guess as to when my furlough was going to happen.

My buddy needs me to pick up a day trip for him, but I took the half time line this month, can I still fly it for him? Is there anything in the contract saying that I can't? Would scheduling even allow this? Just trying to help my buddy out, but didn't know if I can.

Don't know for sure, but I do know that you can't pick up open time. I don't think they would allow it, but I'd ask scheduling or planning.

If you are trying to help him in the "Off" half of the month then you can't pick it up. If it's just an off day during your half to work then that potentially is fine to pick up.

Talk of the town on the Delta thread is that Delta will be selling one of the wholly owned carriers in October....any thoughts?
Most would think Comair, but who knows...Delta is totally unpredictable.

My money says Compass will be gone by the end of the year. They would keep them if they were going to furlough, but I don't see the need for furlough anymore. I think we have seen the bottom of the economy and it can only get better. Delta can make a lot more money selling Compass than keeping them. I say RAH is interested in buying.
