I agree with you on this with one limitation, time. After a decade or so of doing it, its better to just live frugally and ignore bad negative news all together until it actually happens. Makes for more happy days and possibly less unnecessary bad days if it never comes to fruition. Too many of us have had to constantly live under "threats" of bad times for too long. Its no way to live.

Question for someone who may be displaced, but not yet in danger of furlough. I'm a Saab FO and don't want to switch bases, If I put 900 FO for my base as my next choice and am displaced, I wouldn't be subjected to a seatlock would I?

Everything I've seen indicates no seatlock for displacements, but I thought I'd verify, not that I'm too worried about upgrades in the near future.

Anyone know how much this so called "profit" sharing check is gonna be? Funny we are getting money, yet people are getting furloghed.

Furlough doesn't mean the airline is losing money...necessarily.

Just got mine today confirming the voluntary effective 8/4/09. I assume the involuntary is for the same date.
