This statement makes a correlation to the number of pilots fuloughed and a benefit of the proposed LOA. I don't know how else to read it--if you are saying thats not what you meant..o.k

Glad you called your rep--emails are fine--but a call is better. It apparently worked and you must be pleased that system worked just as it should. Now all you have to do is follow up with your Rep and say thanks.
I would be interested to know who told you (pm me if you like) 400,000. That is way north--more than double what I understood it to be.
Told by my rep in an e-mail that the MCBs were estimated to be worth 100-400k myself. Hopefully this works out in the best interest of the pilot group. That's what we all want in the end. I am glad the union stood their ground and am also hopefull we can come to terms with management on a fair LOA. Remember guys, we're all in this together. Future furlough or not, most of us are getting ready yet again for some large changes in lifestyle.

Babur, how many times have you been furloughed? Downgrades don't count. Most of the 100-110 guys this will make twice. I think any of us would prefer a month of Cobra or extra travel to a crew room, either way there really isn't anything we can do about it. It's hard to accept how your job evaporates with no wrong doing on your part, obviously the furloughs aren't real interested in crew rooms.

I think you are misunderstanding my point. I am very familiar with the furlough. I have been furloughed once before at Mesaba. I also knew that there was nothing the union could have done to prevent it. I also know that the company would not move on the furlough pass benefits (or anything else for the involuntary furloughs for that matter). I was against the LOA, told my rep and thanked him after the vote. The individuals negotiating have a duty to try to get the best deal they can for the pilots-then present it as an LOA for a vote. Our guys tried hard, the pilots said thanks but no thanks to the company--thats it. I understand exactly what the 110 are going through-I've been there done that. My goal was not to start an arguement-just make some things clear. You would not believe the # of people who still think we could change the furlough number by negotiating. I'll leave it at that. If you want to get frustrated and angry, direct it at a company who for instance wouldn't even extend furloughed pilots pass benefits (I believe Delta does as do several DCI carriers).

That's the second time they've "closed" DBQ in the last 10 years.

It's up to the company to go to Delta to get flight bennies for those who are furloughed. I think here at Comair they get S3C for the entire time their furloughed. ASA got benefits but they seem less than what Comair got. I'm not sure if guys furloughed from Freedom get Delta flight benefits? Hopefully your MEC asks for and gets your guys what Comair pilots got or better.

Only got to overnight there once but I really liked it. Nice hotel, nice downtown, nice bars.
