Kind of funny, when I was hired 2 years ago, a captain told me he thought the Saabs would go away when they needed to be repainted. Wonder if afraid of what they will find under the paint on some of those a/c?
My best guess is that within a week we'll hear something along the lines of "we don't plan any furloughs at this time".
If no new flying comes our way I think it's pretty safe to say we may loose 200 or so. I'll take a stab at it and say we start hearing the F word in August. I'm trying to remember how much notice they have to give us for that.

If I read the contract right, it says a month if the company can, or at least 14 days if something really unexpected happens. I'd say we are owed a month because the writing has been and is now more than ever on the walls...

Don't misquote me on my earlier post. If you do it, do it right. Seems like you are not even at XJ so what's your beef? Now that you mention it, yeah my source tells me there are more CRJ900s to shuffled around in the DAL system. Never said they will go to XJ.

You know me do ya? No I do not think so. And you equate my agreeing with Bored on the 200 making money to drinking Koolaid? How would you even know if 200s are making or not unless you get some valid inputs from people who crunch the numbers.

I am at XJ, all I'm saying that being overstaffed and losing more airplanes does not look for us. I don't see anyway that the company will not furlough. As far as the 900's if you read the joint contract with NWA/DAL it appears that we are at our limit for 900's. I could be wrong, I'm just not as opitmistic as you, thats all.

DCI was actually OVER the limit of large RJ's. Delta and their MEC agreed to let it go as is in exchange for furlough protection language. There are NO more rj's to come. The only thing that would happen is a shuffle. Any DCI that grows at this point will be at the direct expense of a different DCI.

The only people who know if they are making money or not are at Delta. How in the world could XJ management have any idea how much money they are making when they are most likely operating just a portion of the person's trip. Delta sets the frequency and gauge, not your management. That said, I can't believe they are getting rid of the saab's. There are so many short routes that it doesn't make any sense flying a 200 on that the saab would fit perfectly. They have seemed to have a hard-on in recent years about having an 'all jet fleet'. The stupid public gets their panties in a wad over a t-prop.
