So I've just about finished packing and am going to tackle the FCC problem tomorrow. Anyone in the 8/27 class getting into Towneplace tomorrow that would care to take a few minutes to help me out? We could find a happy hour afterwards

This is from a previous post....not sure if you have already tried this but this is the exact procedure for getting the license.

There's actually a way to do it all online too, without using a paper application. First, you need to register with the FCC and get an FCC Registration Number (FRN), that can be done here:
https://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/coresWeb/publicHome.do

Then, u can log into the Universal Licensing System using your FRN here:
http://wireless.fcc.gov/uls/

Once you do that, simply click on the "apply for a new license" link and follow the directions. The license code you are applying for is RR - Restricted Operator. You pay the fee online using a credit card and you'll get it in the mail within a few weeks.

How does pay work? The info sheet I got says 22.81 @75 hours guarantee for training period but $27.35 for the first year.

So does that mean once you finish training it goes up to $27.35????

That would be nice . . ...

$22.81 to start, raise in December and then on your year anniversary is what we were told in May.

Towne Place I heard was nice--the Homestead was a dump, even after the new beds.

If you're on reserve...zero credit to start.
