Latest word just out of a recurrent ground from JS and JR, Displacements are now looking more likely. Poolies better switch from waterwings to a full lifejacket.

Was all I got by text, will get more when my source hopefully calls at lunch break. My guess is, well look at the CRJ 200 captain bid pack for March..... WAY too many reserve lines, But that also creates the most displacement/training issues. I'll post more when I have it.

For March reserves including build up reserve.
Memphis Saab Ca 30 of 63 are reserve lines...
Memphis Jet Ca 8 of 41
Minneapolis Saab Ca 23 of 87
Minneapolis 200 Ca 27 of 84
Minneapolis 900 Ca 20 of 71
Detroit Saab Ca 15 of 84
Detroit Jet Ca 23 of 79

Very overstaffed on the Mem Saab and MSP CR2 but the junior MEM Saab Ca's are the street captains that are still quite junior in the company and with any reductions would only hold an FO position anywhere else, and in fact have some Mem Fo's senior to them...

The 200 captain bid pack does look fat but if you look at the lines most of them have a credit or 82 or 83 hours. There are even some 88 and 89 credit hour lines so it doesn't look like they have reduced the line credit as much as possible. Wouldn't that be the first step before a displacement?

Yes it should. Costs for displacing many 200 captains would include up to 4 initial training events deepending on how everyone bids.

Word I have is that Delta has not released summer block hours yet. If we do not get a substantial increase in hours we will be displacing and furloughing. If we do get a substantial increase we will try to go without it. Nobody has taken the "early retirement" option and there were about 35 TOWOP's taken. The bottom 100 guys or so probably should start saving every penny they can just in case.....

I wonder why if the 200 is so overstaffed, why wasn't TOWOP offered to us. I know that we were hearing that the fall block hours were increasing. Then we didn't get the increase.

One of the things that no one is talking about is that with the increased SAAB cities and flying how are we going to cover places that have reduced SAAB availability?

As one of the lowest 200 Capts I get Reserve Lines and RR 10 times a month. More often than not when scheduling calls or I call them for an early release, I am told that we are short of reserves. Most of the last week I was told that 8 of 13 reserves are being used. So I am not so sure just how overstaffed we really are. I have also asked the questions about the 80+ block hour lines. Maybe they will reduce them to 75 but I don't know.

Also most of the flights I get are either downgrades from the 900's or upgrades to SAAB's. Or broken 900's or SAAB's. So I see our 200's getting more flying than less.

I talked with a source today that is in most of the RGS and they said they have yet to hear from JR or anyone else about a displacement on the way. I don't know if the source wasn't in class when this was talked about but I know they do most of the RGS going on there now. Who knows just something that I was told today....
