Line Hours
Has anyone noticed (at least for the 200) that the line hours have been reduced in February to under 75 credit hours from the previous month of over 80 credit hours per line. Anyone know if this is normal for the season or if it might be an indication of some sort.

That might be just for CRJ200s because CRJ900 lines have normal hours above 75 hours. Also this is the slow season. I would not read too much into it. CRJ900 is doing the bulk of the flying because CRJ200s are not as fuel efficient or as comfortable as CRJ900s for anything longer than a 45 minute duration. The CRJ200s are probably going away eventually back to 9e.

That's why they were going to release 6 of the captain seatlocks on the 200 for the 900 award that was cancelled. Expect the 200 to remain overstaffed or see a displacement/realignment bid to adjust it along with the Saab....

For example 89 pilots: 30 of them make 85 hours the remaining 59 make guarantee. Total hour pay out is: 6975 hours ((30x85)+(59x75)).
But if all 89 only make guarantee the total hour pay out is only: 6675 (89x75)
Thats 300 hours of pay they've saved right there.
I realize that this is notwithstanding picking up open time/ junior manned, etc. But it still makes sense because traditionally people that are already blocking over 75 are able to pick up open time, etc.
So its to the companies benefit to keep as many people below guarantee as possible, if they're going to keep us on pay role any way.

What articles? Let's see them.
I assume that magizine articles now have precedence over contracts mutally agreed upon by labor unions.
Another one who thinks he knows everything.

Oh I know this, I've been in the loop since the beginning of November. I even had someone walk in my resume directly to Barb Martin (they're on very good terms), but didn't hear anything and then finally got this e-mail. I just thought it was strange because of how late it was after they announced the cancelations.
