Weird thing is that Mesaba called me for a phone interview 1 hour before this news broke out. When I asked what aircraft they were hiring for she said the CR9 cause they were getting 15 of them, I guess she wont be calling back to set up that interview. Gotta love Delta Airlines....

Man, that's really tough, I'm very sorry to hear that. Let's hope it's a short wait.

They were conducting phone interviews? That makes me think they were hiring into a pool or something; back when I got called in early November, it was an in-person personal interview or bust. This is incredible; I knew something like this could happen...but jeez. When I woke up this morning, I was wondering how long it would take to get off reserve after training. Fast forward half a day and I'm wondering where in the world a 1,300 hr pilot with less than 100 multi can actually fly anything.

In the phone interview she mentioned that classes were all booked up through March I believe, and that they were hiring into a pool. I doubt there will be a need to hire into a pool now. Yea jobs are hard to come by now 1300 hours used to allow you to pick where you wanted to go.

I believe you. I haven't been around long, but I've been around long enough to learn that you can't do this stuff if layoffs and cancellations hurts your feelings.

No... thank God. I still have recall rights at OH and I guess I will just be thrown in a pool at XJ. Anybody have an extra life jacket?

So do I have this right. They're first awarded to Mesa, then Comair, the "temp" to 9E, then Mesaba and now ASA???? Does upper management have a CLUE what they are doing???? Each airline 2 of which are wholly owned, 1 might as well be wholly owned all incured expenses to prepare for these planes. It's as if they shook the magic 8 ball for their answer.

We old timers at Mesaba won't lose any sleep over this. Contrary to popular belief our **** does stink. It's pretty rank actually. We've been beaten down before and have pushed through. This is nothing. My best wishes to guys/gals who had a class date get cancelled. Sorry this obviously wasn't in our control. Best of luck to you.
