Default 200 FO upgrading

Does anyone know what the deal is with the 200 FO's not upgrading? I counted about 25 or so that could take the upgrade to Saab CA but they aren't moving/taking the upgrade. I can think of a few reasons....1) They love their current schedules...2) They are waiting for MSP to open up on the Saab...3) They don't have the time for ATP minimums yet.
I have a feeling that my #1 and #2 reasons are why they aren't moving. Yes, I'm a few down the list from them and it would be nice to see them move! I was always told "DON'T PASS UP AN UPGRADE". You never know whey things will turn around and you wished you would have.
I'm not looking to argue or get anyone's panties up in a bunch. I don't know any of the top guys on the list so I was hoping to get an answer from some of them on here. Can you enlighten me???

Yes, I am happy, I was really happy, now I'm more frustrated. Class has been pushed back twice! Money and sanity can only last so long. The skepticism is returning and that gut feeling that my class will be canceled by the time March rolls around is creeping upwards. Life at Comair has taught me some very hard lessons about the airline biz. Still mostly happy , but not feeling so lucky anymore.
I completely agree with you. I've been furloughed too and know where you're coming from. I don't think you'll have to worry about classes being cancelled, but this industry is crazy. I hope to see you on line someday.

Likewise. it's hard to convey a tone of voice through text. I wonder how our society will elvolve when for millions of years most of our communication has not come from our mouth. I guess smilies will have to do for now.

Having been one of the 200 FOs in the second class I can assure you most have the times as almost all did as new hires. Each has their own reason for staying put. I've been out of the loop for a while, but my sense is that some will start to take the upgrade when they can hold a line as a captain or stay on the jet as a captain (MSP reserve). Not much interest in sitting reserve as a Saab captain and no interest in a line out of base. The two or three of us who were interested in that have already taken the upgrade. Those of us from the initial couple of classes are just now getting back to MSP after about a year commuting; that may help you figure out when you will see some movement. I expect at least six months until I can hold a line in MSP on the Saab and I am towards the lower end, if not the most junior, of those who took the upgrade.

Here's a question...how junior does anyone 'in the know' think the MEM CR9 capt slots are going to go. I ask b/c the latest staffing memo says most of the ATL flying will be covered by MEM crews. I've been told most MSP guys will not commute anywhere else...even to get on the 900. So that leaves current DTW and MEM SF340 guys to upgrade.

I'm guessing several are holding out for 900 Captain. Though there was one that was awarded D9C but then changed his mind and declined the class when his bypass was up, so who knows.

As far as schedules went MEM was always the most commuter friendly base. These days I really don't pay any attention to that as I now live in DTW. Most DTW based guys are commuters though and if the schedule/ commute is better in MEM then I see some of them making the switch.
