There's a whole section on APC forums called "Ask the Pilot Recruiter"
I think that's where the cover letter/resume questions should be. You'll get a lot more help there than you'll get here.

I have heard too many stories: 1. an FO left Eagle to Aloha, moved to Hawaii, given a class date and Aloha closed their doors and tried to get back to eagle only to be told "you signed your termination form". 2. Another was in indoctrination with Republic, Frontier pulled the table cloth off from underneath the tableset and he was on the street after leaving his prior airline and 3. another got his CRJ SIC type rating at Comair and got furloughed.
Can I get some peoples thoughts on whether its entirely likely to get hired by Mesaba and get either: part way through training or complete IOE and then get furloughed after Delta announces further cuts? Im getting more and more concerned about it...looking forward to peoples thoughts. I've got a tough decision ahead possibly.

Unless you have hidden demons you didn't disclose, if you are in class, you will not get furloughed. This is not the time for Mesaba to see those types of actions. They need many, many more bodies than they have now.
Most of it is understanding the ebb and flow of the industry. Now is not that "time" at Mesaba. Relax and have fun.

Where did you get the idea the 15 (7 from Pinnacle, who got them from Freedom) 900s were to be operated on a temporary basis? Comair didn't get them because they were offered as temporary. Pinnacle is operating them on a temporary basis until their factory fresh 900s resume deliveries. Mesaba wouldn't be going through the ramp up just to operate a bunch of planes temporarily. It's okay to feel uneasy, this is the airline industry after all. But at least do it with some basis of fact and not rumors. As said... it's our "turn" now to not be kicked around. Mesaba has had plenty of that in the past.

They train you to pass your checkride...unfortunately it seems 1/2 of the stuff you need to know as a newhire you need to find out on your own. Crewtrac isnt that difficult after you play around with it for a short while though.

So I am just trying to find answers and opinions of Mesaba pilots. Some people tell me, (and I quote) "OH well....Delta is announcing 5-6% cutbacks after the merge and Delta may just spin-off Mesaba and Mesaba will be end up being out of a contract agreement...Delta has too many regional airlines to choose from, just look at Comair, look what happened to them, Mesaba will be next". So thats what I have to listen to. Bull___???

Anybody with access to flight loads on Northwest want to check some loads for me? The nwa._com/nrev says Good but 22 standbys and I was curious what the exact numbers were. PM if you are willing, and I'll give you the details. Thanks.

We're a large operator of 900's. I'd see delta doing to Mainline pilots and going for scope relief (ie fill to 90 seats) before dropping our services. Besides the economy is in shambles what profit would Delta get by selling is right now? We will be sold off but they will wait to maximize profits. Even then who is going to invest/buy a regional with the chance of it's flying being taken away by the company who sold it off? Barring an even worse economic meltdown or anothe 911, XJ should be stable.
