That guy is a toolbox, i got a SF340 type and a 900 type...but he must work at northwest however, since we dont have "the 9" at Mesaba. No the 900 FO's do not get a PIC type, they do however get the wear sunglasses inside the airport, and a rather stylish "Factory Trained" sticker for their flight case

ok thanks. I was thinking it may be like compass, where the FO's are typed.

I can type... at least 40wpm. I already have the 'type', so I'm gonna request the 73 type instead.

I know that was true in the beginning because they started with zero pilots and all would upgrade soon. I don't know if that is true (PIC vs SIC) now as new hires will not be upgrading as quick.

I'm confused. Do 900 FOs at Mesaba get PIC or SIC types?

Ok listen, First officers are First officers not captains so no PIC type. The SIC type mainly exists as a formality paperwork wise so the FOs can operate the aircraft internationally into canada.

One last thing. Dont call it the 9. because there is an aircraft that northwest operates that has been called the nine for the past 35-40 years. It just wont make you any friends anywhere dropping the two zeros. Nothing personal just some info.

How things have changed there....no furlough, down-sizing, or bankruptcy talk. At least for now. Nice to see...
Happy Thanksgiving
