DUDE, when you go into the interview, according to people on here who believe all the Mesaba HR folks are running an intelligence, or lack there of, operation on Airline Pilot Central, they will be able to figure out who you are.
Then again, you are probably just baiting us into replying, for your own guilty fun, good show.

keep in mind that the 1.5 year upgrades are for the people who were hired 1.5 years ago
you will likely not see an upgrade in 2 years if you are hired tomorrow
i am not trying to hate on anyone, just saying if you are hired here now, who knows how long upgrade will be, i just dont want people expecting to upgrade in 1-2 years and be disappointed
rule of thumb that i would say is the top %55 of pilots on the seniority list will be captains, lets say you het hired now and have a seniority # of 1200, that means you need to get to about number 650 before you upgrade, which would mean 550 people need to leave the company for you to see the left seat. probably not gonna happen in 2 years, or even 3
on the flip side, if you get hired now at #1200 and we get more airplanes and need to hire a total of 2400 pilots or the flow through take 9 people a month, things are much different
i am not trying to burst bubbles here, just stating my opinion
i have moved up 50 people in about 14 months at the company for what its worth

I am also hearing rumors of Delta cutting back its flying; will that affect Mesaba and their hiring boom?

AKA a current first class medical certificate. First class is valid as a first class for 12 months now for anyone under 40. Just making sure that people aren't getting another medical when they don't need to. Maybe I just misunderstood what you were saying.

Maybe I misunderstood too, but the the way I understand his post, he is saying the last time he got a medical was two (2) years ago, which was a 1st class, OR he is saying he has held a 1st class medical in 2007 and 2006? I don't know. Either way, Good Luck with the interview!

i know what it says thanks for telling me though....just get tired of paying 85 bucks for no fing reason...we will see i can get it if i need.
#4859
I wouldn't risk it if I were in your position. Then again, I feel more comfortable playing it safe following the instructions/requirements. I know how much it sucks to be broke and have to pay an extra $85 here another $70 there, etc. etc.

Its also a question of how committed you are to getting this job? If they see you didn't bother to get a first "for no fing reason" they may assume you are just interviewing because it seemed like a decent idea, not because you really wanted the job. But don't worry, there are lots of other applicants willing to get the first.
