Mesaba new hires
#4791
Junior CA on the Saab is Jan 2008(I know cause its me). But thats beacuse we are street Captains. True upgrade is running around #690 right now, which is about an Aug 2007 hire date, I think.
The next vacancy which is for a new hire class date of 12/1 has 14 CRJ-900 upgrades and 14 Saab upgrades for a total of 28 upgrades. Also, there will be 20 newhires to the 900 and 4 to the saab.
Hope this helps. Good luck with the interviews!

That must suck for you since more senior guys keeps upgrading infront of you pushing you down on the bidding line.

I just wanted to get an idea of what the breakdown will be for the Dec. 15 class. Steve (HR guy) said he wouldn't know until the vacancy comes out.

The 12/1 vacancy is out now and will be awarded on monday. The breakdown should be available a day or two after that and the exact number of newhires per base should be available when the 12/15 award comes out (usualy 2 weeks after the vacancy notice is put out. So to make a long story short...probably about three weeks until the exact number is available.

Yeah you are right. I should have checked the latest vacancy notice. 28 total new CA upgrade slots. Checking the last vacancy award, looks like the most junior Saab CA award went to August 07 hire.

Yes, better upgrade than eagle. Was 7-8 years in March and now several CA's displacing to FO's and displacing bases as well. So I can imagine it could be around 10 years now, just guessing.
However, from what I have found out on APC is Eagle has better contract rules on reserve and we have open time daily that pilots can bid on and fly that the company has been very good about blocking for overtime, so more available to RSV pilots.
With that said I still want to get to Mesaba. My seniority number is more than 2400. That is more than twice the Mesaba list, aight it?
Lighteningspeed & Josher9er:Thank you.
