It depends on what you want to do. If you don't have a family and can move to your domicile without it being a huge pain in the "you know what" then go ahead. Commuting is easy some days and others its incredibly stressful. I have a crashpad in MSP and just take the light rail to the Mall of America then a quick 5 min walk. I am on reserve. It sucks not having a car to drive around, but thats what you have to do if you want the job bad enough.

My example of reserve commuting. I do have a family so I can not just get up and move, so I commute day of when I have the later reserve period, and the day before if I have the early period. I have a crash pad, and I brought a car up to Memphis from Florida so that I have that convenience.

Congrats Adam, just got the call too! Nov. 3 can't come soon enough
I know 4 of us now from the Oct 9 interview got the call, and another colleague from my current job is in the Nov. 3 class as well. Life is good, but the fat lady doesn't sing until I'm sitting in class day 1. Best of luck to everyone else out there, feel free to PM with any questions about the interview process.

Has the company mentioned how long this hiring spurt will go on? How long will it take "higher time" applicants to upgrade? (Guys with an ATP, 2000 + hours, and 1000 + hours on the SF340)

No mention of it so far. We aren't even sure why they are hiring yet. Looking at maybe a couple of years to upgrade now.

Thank you. I spent 2 1/2 days in Denver as PNF for some captains RFT last week and they only have like 7 hours of TAFB on crewtrac.
