The powerpoint in the interview was a little outdated, but said you could expect to be elible depending on a number of other factors after 18 months. I'm sure with current trends that number will be increasing.

Seems to be a lot of questions about how long on reserve, and how quick to upgrade....reserve is all base and platform dependant.
for upgrading, I wouldn't expect any quick upgrades, they just awarded the 640ish guy upgrade, and there are now 1100 pilots on property. Plenty of the new hires from last year are now eligible and a few of us hired this year.

Is Mesaba hiring? Any chance of me getting hired in the near future? I have 660TT, 330ME, 350 Dual given, CFII, MEI. I'm getting really antsy to get out of the flight instructing world and in to the airlines, any suggestions?

BTW, I applied with 900TT and 300ME or so. If you look through the forum you'll see guys that got the "Thanks but no thanks letter" shortly after applying with 121 time and most over 1000TT. It's hard to say why they were turned down, but you never know if you don't try.

Yes Mesaba is hiring and looks like will continue to do so through early part of next year. Your times meet the minimums so go ahead and apply online and see what happens. The HR I am told is swamped with thousands of applications a week as Mesaba is one of the few still hiring. You will be competing against guys and gals with 121 experience so your chances are probably not as good as it would have been earlier this year but you never know what criterias are being used by the HR Dept. They seem to be hiring plenty of low time pilots such as you. Good luck.

It never hurts to apply, but you have to realize what the competition is. Competitive mins are higher than where they were this time last year. Having "high time" doesn't guarentee an interview, let a lone a job either. Even though HUNDREDS (not thousands) of apps are recieved every week and most are turned away, there is actually a particular madness to the whole process.

I am curious, what are the minimum times that you have to have to upgrade?
