Interesting news...my buddy (from KMSN) is a Mesaba FO in the Saab and currently out passing his IOE. So far....so good for him.

I'm @ 535TT and 64ME (CFI/CFII/MEI) and driving skydivers for my second year and I'm itching to make the jump. I'm very interested in applying for Mesaba at the end of August. I don't really care which plane I get assigned to, but I'm wondering if my chances of making a September class just died with that news.

No, the classes will most probably continue on schedule. As line guys, we only hear about classes a month in advance or so. We only saw the Aug 27th class posted lasted week (finally....). So the fact that nobody (outside of the GO) knows about Sept. classes is meaningless. We will probably hear about the Sept. classes in a week or two.

Those classes that are listed, are they already full or are they still looking to fill them?? The reason I ask is because I interview on Thursday and I'm curious if I get hired could I expect such a quick class date?

I asked once before, but was unsuccessful, can someone post a typical MSP and/or DTW Saab pairing? I just want to get an idea of the kind of flying you all are doing these days.

Thanks guys/gals!

Im not familiar with all the small cities out in the midwest that the saab runs, but I have seen lines for the saab with 6-7 sometimes 8 legs a day. I hear its hot in the summer and cold in the winter. But the guys who fly it seem to really like it. Good luck to you!

The vacancy is out for bidding right now. It will be awarded on Aug 7. At that time we will know how many of the 26 will be available in each base. You will bid on those available domiciles (probably MEM and DTW) based on seniority in your class (date of birth).

Welcome to Mesaba.
