Do you perhaps mean "turboPROP PIC"? If not, I'm not sure I understand, perhaps you might clarify?

Bring good attitude, ask questions, study like you never did before, don't go home on the weekends, and whatever else you think you need in order to make sure you're not behind in ground school...and you'd be just fine.

I'd be more than happy to answer any 900 training questions you might have.

Welcome aboard!
I think what it comes down to is experience, decision making skills. A guy with 100+ hrs. of multi engine times obviously has more experience than the guy with 19 hrs. of Multi. You can teach a nutless monkey to fly an RJ. Let's be honest, flying an RJ is not that hard!!

But anyway, we could talk about this all day long...

To get back on topic. Nobody answered my question, yet. What's the word on Mesaba hiring 200 more people? True? Rumor?

I've heard the 200 more peeps rumor from several different people. Anyone heard anything about new routes?

I heard TODAY that Mesaba is getting Freedom's 900's and they are going to start flying out of ATL. However, I'm not even in class yet and did not get the info from a very reliable source.

I could see the Saabs before I could the 900s...I wouldn't be surprised if post-merger (assuming Mesaba is included) that they are moved from MEM to ATL to cover routes the ATR did for ASA.

Yes, we are already starting to see a little of that over the last few months. Out of IND, we are bridging to DTW, MSP and MEM and did a DEN turn over the summer. We are also doing Colorado Springs out of MSP. We are going IND to Tampa in October or November and who knows what else with the 33 DC-9's being left in the sand next year. I have no doubt that more ATL will be in the near future with more routes that the 9 had.

We are NOT getting the Freedom 900s... at least not right now. Another carrier is getting them. Wonder why they're TDY'ing in CVG?

As for those in the October 6th class... looks like all the 900 spots will be in DTW and for the saab, 5 will be in DTW and 1 in MEM.

Regarding the 200 new pilots... that number has been thrown around by JR, but HR doesn't have an official number to hire. They just know to interview as many a possible and fill the classes as they are determined. This time last year the classes were projected with sizes looking ahead for about a year. Now, they're working on about a 3 week lead time.
