Don't quote me but North Dakota, SCSU, and a few in Michigan have bridge programs that get them preferential interviews at lower times. These I believe are the ones getting interviews lower then the 121 guys and ones with higher flight time.

Moving violations
DUIs
College degree
Recency of experience
Multi time

Those reasons are just as likely to get your resume in the "do not call" pile. It's more than just how many hours you have, what airline you're furloughed from or how much more experienced YOU perceive yourself to be.

Not to mention the hundreds of resumes that get piled up on a weekly basis and basically less than 3 people to handle all the pilot stuff. Don't forget HR is scrambling to hire more FAs, rampies, gate agents and many other positions at the company as well. That means less than 3 people to screen, call, schedule, travel, interview, do the piles of paperwork, get the background checks done and get you slotted for class. Give them a break... they're working as fast as they can to get the process done and people up to MSP for the interview.

Mesaba seems like a great company. I'll revamp my resume, get some consultation, and re-apply. Thanks.
Last thing I'll add about resumes is that you should make sure that the experience you list on the resume actually applies to the job you're applying for. I used to make the mistake of confusing a resume with a job application. The job application gives you the opportunity to list all your previous work experience. The resume is your ticket in the door and therefore should reflect only the experience/education that applies to the actual job your applying for. Obviously, it's purpose is to sell you and get you in the door....just like a TV ad. If you can limit it to a page....great, but that's not as necessary as keeping the resume neat/clean and easy to read.

Unfortunately, the APC resume templates don't appear to be working any longer. Try emailing the site to see if they still have copies because I found them extremely helpful.

I got the "more qualified apps" email in july....guess what? update and keep calling. I just fedexed my resume and cover letter yesterday to them. Until I hear an official "NO" for an interview, I'll keep being that thorn. Gotta stand out man, plain and simple. I'm furloughed, 121, master's degree, and military........I think they are just getting flooded and it's top of the pile type of pickings.

Multi time too low Cappelation.........I hate to say it but everything I've heard around from captains that know people in Eagan is that they have a lot of 5000TT 2-4000Jet/Multi applications. Dont be discouraged try back again but its competitive again at Mesaba to get a job.

40 multi might be a bit low. The old standard was 100 which is what XJ may be getting back to. It was 1000 and 100 and then 800 than 100 and now what is published but I don't think that is competitive any more.

Mesaba has contracted with Comair Academy to conduct initial screening for potential first officer condidates. Applicants must complete a technical evaluation through Comair to be considered for an interview with Mesaba. The cost of the technical evaluation is approximately $350. Applicants that successfully complete the evaluation, may be called in for an interview with Mesaba at a later date. However, successful completion of the evaluation does not guarentee an interview. Applicants may contact Comair Academy directly to schedule and evaluation - 1-800-678-7265

I smell a merger ten years in the making!

And Driver, why worry about 10 RRs in a month when guys are upgrading at Mesaba faster then they could even get off reserve at Comair?
