Mesaba new hires

It's OK to both hate reserve and be happy you have a job. Most things in life aren't black or white.

Well I'm pretty sure that was the understanding when they got hired? I could be totally wrong, but it seems to make pretty good sense that somebody hired in late 07 on the same seniority list as everyone else be in a position that their seniority holds. I'd definitely agree with you that things are stagnant right now... but a whole lot of people hired in late 07 at a bunch of other regionals are getting the F-bomb. Seems like everyone here who was recently hired is relatively fortunate so far.

Agreed. We are again starting to see the Mesaba we all know and love. Overall, a good regional to be "stuck" at for a while. I think Mesaba has a lot to offer in terms of comradery and genuine experience building opportunities. I know it can be frustrating to be stuck on reserve or only able to hold a mediocre line. You do go numb after a period of time and you don't notice it as much, if that is any consolation. Grow here, learn here and have FUN here. There are many worse places to be right now.

I agree with most of the responces, I certainly am happy to have a flying job, and so far the few people I have flown with have been great. I truly love flying this plane, I had a lot of fun on my IOE trips, both in and out of the plane, I would just like to get back to doing that.

Does anyone know when they started CAT II training for the -200? I got called the other day and have it on the 3rd of August. A nice 12 hour day
Does this really mean they are wanting to keep the -200s for a while? Spending all this money to do the training.
