Mesaba new hires
#3271
I will keep it on track...Where are you guys at right now with hiring? I just got Furloughed from PSA and would like to get on with Mesaba. They were my number one choice before I went to PSA. I live in the Detroit area so it would work out great for me. I intereviewed with them 8 or so months ago and didn't get the offer. I was told to get more experiance and re-apply so I just moved on and went to PSA. I have been online for a couple of months and got the axe. My times are 1100/150 or so. Thanks!

You have been getting some incorrect advice on this from people who do not have good info on this. Mesaba Director of Ops has told us that 40 pilots will be in the pool for now and starting September of this year to October Mesaba will hire another 50 to 70 pilots. So put your application in now and you will ahead of the hiring wave when Mesaba starts to crank up hiring process. Most hiring will be into CRJ900 and CRJ200s. Saab is more or less fully staffed for now. I know this info first hand because Director of Ops talked to us about this during RGS this month.
And and as far as where mesaba will be hiring into...who knows maybe we could see a little hiring into the saab? one could hope at least
oh and fyi...when I was in ground school in october the DO also said that mesaba's seniority list would be "anywhere from 1200 to 1500 this time next year"....so I think stuff said like that must be taken with a grain of salt.

He is pretty popular, you will see plenty of people filling out the form in the lobby if you are there in the am. $85 for first class.

I am guessing he meant 50 to 70 total including the 40 in the pool?

Seniority is almost up 1200 and by the end of this year will be close to 1300. 1500 will be a reality if Mesaba gets additional 18 aircraft which according to inside people at the XJ HQ thinks is a real possibility.

No That's 50 to 70 in addition to 40 being put into the pool.

It is ok to be cynical but that's carrying it too far. XJ already has 26 CRJ9s and scheduled to receive 2 every month to the end of the year. Would make no financial sense for NWA to cancel the rest of the order and incur millions of $ penalty when NWA has already announced they plan to reduce approx 34 DC9s and 15 A319/320 and intends to use 76 seat RJs as an interim measure toi fill the gaps.
