they could be having both a crj 200 and a saab class starting aug 27.
or maybe they dont know what equipment they will be training then.
gredenko, since you recently interviewd and got the offer, what was your class date?

There was even a guy at my interview who told them point blank that he'll "only fly a jet." I don't think he made it to the whiz quiz.

The saab is "jet powered", the sticker on the side told me so.

1+) The Saab has one of the best aircraft safety records out there.
2+) The Saab is so basic that it is very dependable.
3+) The Saab has traditionally had better schedules than the jet, meaning more efficient pairings, more money earned (as an FO), and more days off.
4+) The Saab also has better schedules, because there are more of them, leading to more choice and variety.
5-) The seats in the Saab are horrible.
6-) The Saab smells like a locker room.
7-) Lack of an APU is about the biggest drawback to the Saab.
8+) When you upgrade, it will be into the Saab, so you may as well learn it (and it's associated airports) now.
But if you'd rather fly a jet, no problem. Just don't say that you're only willing to fly the jet in the interview, as that would not demonstrate good judgment.

Oh, yeah, and the Saab is, as the sticker says, "jet powered". (Actually, more like "helicopter powered".)

if you want to fly a real jet, then get in the saab, get your time and then go to the majors where you will fly a jet. A lot of these people who get hired just want to tell girls they fly a jet. Especially at mesaba if i was going to be a captain on the saab, I would want to have flown it first, and not go from crj 900 to saab.
