Thanks for the update. Looks like my June 30 class date will be pushed back again. Oh well.

So, I am trying to figure approximately where I stand in the hiring process. Currently I have a June 30 class date which I expect will now be moved because of the 12 additional seat locks being released. According to the latest fleet update on Mesaba's airline profile on APC, 10 of the 17 200's have been delivered and 21 of the proposed 36 900's have been delivered. My understanding is that all the pilots needed to staff the 17 200's have been hired and trained and are just waiting for the airframes to arrive. Is this correct?
Next, the Saab is fully, if not overstaffed because of the seatlocks being released. Obviously no hiring into that plane for now.
That leaves the 900, which I and the rest of the new hires are proposed to go into. If 21 of the 36 have been delivered, that leaves 15. Do any of you have any educated guesses as to how many more pilots will be needed to staff the remaining planes assuming all 36 are delivered? Another assumption I am making is that the people already in training are to staff planes that have not yet arrived, so maybe 10 undelivered airplanes still needing crews at about 10 pilots per plane, leaving space for approximately 100 new hires?
I know this is all speculation and anything could happen, but assuming the airplanes get delivered that are suppose to be delivered, are my expectations reasonable?
Thanks,
Rob

A couple of guys that i know that are pretty low on the totem pole in DTW had the same 6 days and never got called... it really just depends on where your at...and whats going on apparently a bunch of 900's broke at the end of the week and they needed reserves....my plane's IRS kept reverting and the ACARS was deferred...yuck manual weight and balance

I know it's hard to believe, but last year at this time EVERYBODY was flying close to 90 hours and crediting well over 100.
No available reserves. Vacations canceled. Jr manning like crazy.
I hated not flying when I was a new hire, especially when I didn't live in base.
Believe me when I say that the current no flying status alot of you are having right now isn't the rule, it's the exception. Then like me you will wish for the no flying days you have now.
