When you get assigned your equipment and base at Mesaba varies. On average, you don't find out this information until as late as the first/second day of ground school.
Most people in the Saab that I have seen get based in MEM first, however vacancies are published very often, and most are awarded their first pick duirng simland.
All CRJ-200 spots are currently going to be based in MSP for now, and the first several CRJ-900 spots are also going to be in MSP (in the future, DTW will have the most -900 bases).
As far as reserve time, it is virtually non-existant with the flow of things around here.

You should get a packet that includes benefits, pass privileges, and employee info stuff. I received mine a bout a week after they confirmed my travel info... if I remember correctly.

However, being on reseve, you WILL fly. Since we are in growth mode, there seems to be no shortage of open time and the reserves are being worked fairly steady.

The Saab new hires have been about 50/50 between DTW and MEM. Just depends on the vacancy at the time of your class.
The August 13 class will have 11 in DTW and 8 in MEM.
The most junior MSP Saab FO was started in the May 28th class.

Question for you guys...
Should I bring my car to training? I'm trying to decide if it's worth driving 22 hours to have my car out there with me, or if I should take the company up on their offer to fly me out there.
Also...if I do bring my car does that mean I'll automatically be the D.D. on saturday nights? I dont want that either!

22 hrs? Where are you driving from? I thought my drive was going to be bad at 16 hrs from Dallas. I was wondering the same thing (if I get hired)...am I suppose to drive up or what? 8 weeks is a long time in a hotel with no car.
