Correct. After you actually come to class and get an ID, your info will be loaded into the system. You should have access to the internal websites within the first week of training.

A friend of mine bought me the AvSoft Guide and Software to match but its for the 200. I was curious if the info in this book is identical to the 900.

Keep in mind I am not planning on memorizing a bunch of questions (software) and don't plan on trying to memorize all the switches before I get to training. I was a preflight, and primary flight instructor for the Navy and totally understand the mentality of telling prospective students not to try to memorize and study early before arriving. But since I have this stuff, I do plan on becoming familiar with the diagrams of the systems if they apply to the 900.

I can elaborate more on the content of this stuff if someone wants me to, but will keep that to PM's.
Don't bother with that stuff. Might be useful once you finish ground when you know what is right but before it is only going to make things more confusing since it is not the 900. I know big difference in the fire panel and fadec with minor differences all around.

Cool, that was the answer I was looking for, what about the system diagrams? I have extensive experience studying and teaching complex systems (P-3 orion) and the diagrams in the guide are kindergarten in comparison. Again, I have no intensions of memorizing anything, but when on the crapper, what else should I read?

Go read the paper, or something fun. You will have plenty of time to learn things in ground school...and I'm sure your background will help with that too.

Study the FOM when you get it but anything beyond that is a waste of time in my opinion until you learn what mesaba wants you to know about he aircraft.

Just my opinion

FOM will give constipation but good to knock you out at night.

As for systems knowledge it is more guided toward system management using the displays (eicas-you'll find out about this) then rebuilding the wheel like the last plane I was on Saab.

The systems knowledge does not go into the nitty gritty just what you need to know ie valve closed and you know it did because it is displayed on the eicas - why to hot.

Not valve closed because it exceed 208 degrees and used 200th stage bleed air to drive the flux capacitor closed in .2 seconds.

PM me now or in training if you need any advice or help. I just finished training in the 200 waiting on OE.

What does EvilGN stand for evil genius

EvilGN is my Go fast car. Buick Grand National, which I have modded and made to look even more Evil than they originally came. I have all black rims on an all black car. Tinted windows, "EVIL" in the third brake light and EVILGN on the Tag. Its always been said the buick world, that if Darth Vader had a car, he'd drive a GN.

I had a feeling that's what your name stood for. I always liked the Dark Side of GNs.

what year TA do you have submach? I had an 85 (First year for the TPI) and I thought it was fast, until I raced the GN I now own the day I went to go look at it. (yes I know street racing is dangerous and illegal, that was in my younger days, I only race at the track now)

BTW for anyone who cares, Comair is now beating us.
