Is there any news on what the -900 routes out of MEM will be?
#2523
MEM-DSM, ATL, ORD, MKE, DFW and I think that's it to start. I would expect more as more a/c are allocated to MEM and wouldn't be surprised to see the 900 on former avro routes like BHM, BTR, XNA, OKC etc...

900 drivers will see BHM (service to and from DTW) starting in May. Also back to GRR and MDW.
200 drivers will see AZO, DCA (service to and from DSM and MSN), FNT and LAN in May. Also CLE, GRB, LSE, MSN and OMA will be back on the pairings for the 200.
Saab drivers...we will see the same stuff yet again

It's always in the bid pack but you can also view all the Airlink schedules on mymesaba if you go to the last link on the Pass bureau menu.

With so many other majors tossing away 5-10% of their 200 flying, any thoughts about the long term future of our 200 program here over the next year or two?

Personal opinion....
they are placeholders for the 900 options. Nothing more than differences training (4-5 days) for the pilots. Kind of like how 602XJ was kept around for a year as the only CRJ here just to keep the program alive so that we could ramp things up quicker for when the 900's first started arriving. I wouldn't expect more than 1 total airframe of growth beyond what is arriving now. (-17 CR2's + 18 CR9's = net of 1 airframe)

I had talked to my roommate (SF Capt) who thought that with more 900 options that the 200 program/sim were really a reason to build up the pilot list and be able to switch them to the 900 at the drop of a hat. I imagine that retiring the DC9, the ERJ's and 900's are a nice change of fuel economy and reducing the supply to increase the demand for mainline routes.
