Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly does "08-04 vacancy as a new hire" mean? Does it mean you are almost done with training, and thus able to hold a vacancy as of april 08?

I go to class on march 10th on the 900. The new vacancy was named 08-04 on mymesaba.com, and has assignments for new hire bases, but only says the words "new hire" and not names. In other words the new vacancy says that 8 new hires are going to dtw and 3 to mem, but not which ones.

They came in for our class, started at the top of the list and asked which one of the bases you wanted to be at. Everyone got the base they wanted.

Jesse, did you get anything else in the mail besides the FOM and the FOM study guide?

They come into your class and start at the top of the list and work to the bottom. So when they call your name, just hope the people in front of you didnt all take mem.

anyone have other thoughts on future Saab movement after this latest vacancy?
Saab staffing is about where it should be now, so I would guess that they start backfilling those positions maybe by the next award.

So....I've been reading through my brand spankin' new FOM prior to class, and I found the section on service animals...my question is, has anyone ever seen a "helper monkey" on a flight? I've never seen such an animal. I'm familiar with dogs, pigs, and even small ponies for the blind or disabled but not a monkey. Ever seen one? (Please no flame responses, I'm only curious and am not criticizing in any way.)
