Has anyone been notified of any future class dates in the SAAB or 200? I was offered the job at Mesaba about 2 weeks ago and have not heard anything since...

I am really hoping for the SAAB, and told the interviewers that and the guy that called me to offer me the job so maybe that is the delay? The told me end of April early May, but that is as much information is I have received.

Right now I think there is a bit of a slowdown in getting all training lined up. If you were offered a job, you will hear from them regarding your class date which could change. Asking for a Saab has nothing to do with how quickly you will start training, although that was the case last year. Just relax and wait and if you can't wait call the HR person who gave you the good news.

You did the right thing in asking for Saabs if you want to upgrade fast because Saab upgrade will come fast and you want to upgrade in the aircraft you have been flying.

I wouldnt express that at an interview. The saab captain interviewing might get jealous. I officially bow to the greatness of the superior jet pilot. By the way most of us dont "care too much" to have you show up on property. 9E might be more to your liking.

Whats wrong with this guy wanting to fly one of the jets? Some people might want to dabble a little bit on the jets before they upgrade on the SAAB. I don't think theres any problem with that.

I've already flown the SAAB. Whats wrong with the desire to fly a jet?

There is nothing wrong with preferring the jet. To each their own, right? However, snubbing, or arousing the perception of snubbing, half the fleet in the interview is never a wise strategy.

Well put.

In other news, another TOWOP for April is out (Saab CA and FO only) with simular numbers as the last one. The efficiency of crew planning continues to amaze me...

I don't think theres anything wrong. Give it a shot. Chances are you will get assigned one of the jets anyways. Looks like they offered time off without pay again to Saab guys in each domicile.
