Thanks guys that training is a long haul! I would definately like a week off and since im on the 200 that shouldnt be a problem, but i have heard that things are speeding up and not to expect to long of a break before IOE.. We will see sounds like thats part of the fun LOL

Quick question guys. I'm in the March 10th class and I understand they whip you through ground school/ sim training pretty quick. I was wondering if anyone had any info on where they are putting new 900 crews and what kind of schedule I can expect for IOE and after. I know this can vary widely, but I was just wondering what kind of trip pairs etc. I can expect. It sucks but I have to commute and I'm trying to get a feel for how much time I have before my wife leaves me. Thanks much, and I'll see you in a couple of months!

Haha, that is a terrible attitude going into this business. Just make sure you tell her you love her and that no Flight Attendant will ever compare, especially on over nights. Good luck with that recipe for disaster!!!

I'm just kidding mostly. I know commuting sucks but we've been through it before. I'm just wondering how commutable the routes are and how long it takes to get a decent line

After nearly 2 months off, the first day (whenever that comes) is going to be nerve racking. Seriously, I was in a October class with one of their new -200 line check airman and he told me to expect another PC around reaching my 90 days.
I think you can be comfortable in the fact that you will sit for longer than a week for your IOE since there are so many of us in front of you waiting for the same thing.

Being a CFII I hope my Instrument flying knowledge is ok. ha. Just got done with the checkride a month ago. My time is low in the clouds but my flying and knowledge should be up there is I can pass the double I checkride. As far as DUI and any other driving problems I have had one accident ever and no tickets. I have about 800TT and 75 Instrument. I guess we can speculate all day on what went wrong and it is normal to think you screwed up somewhere but I guess we will never know where we fell short. I consider my self very outgoing and friendly. Anyways I am writing this in order to help future applicants and let them know what I experienced. Everyone at the interview were really cool. Messaba seems like a fun company to work for. You guys all seem to chat a lot on here so that seems cool but I really wish I knew what it was that didn't make the cut. Take care who ever took the time to write and hope you all continue to enjoy Messaba! And to the other person who got the letter see you at another interview!!! Until then i will be flying that skychicken around teaching folks how to fly. It isn't all bad I can stay in FL a little longer. Have fun with Northern winters!!!!!!![EEK!](https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)

You may be right though. Things can be a bit of a "mess" around here... maybe we should call it "Messaba" after all

Commuting is never easy, but Mesaba is pretty commuter friendly for a regional. You'll survive. Your marriage, however, is a whole other story...

As far as IOE goes, you might have a short wait, but not too bad. I had about three weeks between checkride and the start of OE, but that was over the Christmas and New Years holidays. The trips during OE are not dummied down by any means. My first two days in the plane I was going in and out of MSP, DCA, and DFW. I had a four day and a two day OE trip back to back, and flight times right up to the legal max (30/7).
By the way, if you need a crash pad in MEM, PM me.
