Also it sounds normal to be waiting a few months to start training, and then also wait another 2 months to begin the sim training right?
Sounds about right... hurry up and wait. Welcome to the airlines.

Vacancy isnt out... my guess, good majority will be MEM maybe 1 or 2 DTW...definately no MSP. No more MSP vacancy bids for new hires unless your on the 200.

Hot off the press.

Voluntary TOWOP for the month of March..........

All Saab positions, 10 CA's and 20 FO's pretty equal in all bases.

Last time I saw one of these, bad things followed.

This is a complete guess...but TOWOP probably = Time Off WithOut Pay

Probably a cost cutting measure because training is backed up and deliveries might be backed up. I don't see the doom and gloom with this....just some accountants trying to suppress some of the training slack. But....this is just my guess.

Not dumb at all. It's actually kind of sad that the top half of the list here at XJ are all too familiar with this abbreviation.

TOWOP = Time Off WithOut Pay

As of right now, it's nothing to get too worked up about. I would imagine they are trying to adjust for our slight over-staffing in the Saab and to give our maxed out training center a chance to catch up. My experience is never to get too comfortable in this industry, things like this are a reminder why.

That's for sure. Hopefully it isn't a sign of things to come.

Oh God lets hope we don't have a repeat of 2005 all over again. I like how the company releases this stuff without an explanation, not like its our livelihood or anything.
