I thought somewhere on this almost 200 page thread that someone had a CRJ 200 Study guide made. I just finished ground school and preparing for sims so if anybody knows how to get ahold of this person it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks [email protected]

I was just wondering if you are allowed to moonlight part 135 while waiting for sim and IOE. Seems like there can be quite a wait and since you're not flying anyway, duty and flight times should not conflict.
Thanks

without digging into the FOM, I think it says something to the regard of to do other commercial flying you need to have approval from the chief pilot.
So maybe, with approval?

Ok, well this is my first post! I have an interview on Wednesday with Mesaba. Besides reading the gauges and all, anyone have any advice for me? Anyone have an idea on what class date I might possibly get down the road if I get hired? Also, I have been hearing strong rumors that Mesaba is almost to the point of closing its doors in the hiring department. A few freinds of mine have already been turned down from Mesaba, so I am wondering if I might be at the tail end of the hiring spree? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I dont think it is the tail end of the hiring spree but rather a slow down. This summer will probably be like last summer. They will hire like crazy because new aircraft are arriving and well they need people to fly them. Know this doesnt mean that mesaba may be hiring like they have in the past but it certainly does not mean the end. The age 65 rule will halt some of the attrition rate at airline because there senior guys are still being able to fly but in a year or two these guys will start falling off as well and we will go back into a hiring spree.

Yacko, Im in the Feb 11 class too. I guess that they cut our class down from 14 to 10 because bombardier slipped on one of the orders. That might have caused the rumor the class had been changed.

I've done some extensive digging on this subject for my own reasons. The answer is basically no, unless of course, you have permission from a CP, which they will not give you. Flight instructing is fine, but 135 is a no go at XJ.

not to disturb the beehive, but I am curious as to why one would not be able to moonlight at any flying job....those who are military types in the reserves obviously have no restrictions on type of flying, whether it be as an instructor or flying cargo in a c130.

Civy instruction is approved, 135 is not. Why? Because they can.
