well i just got the saab july 30. i was flying a metro now to a saab, decisions. i know we all want jets, but when one uprades its the saab anyways right. and you are seat locked for two years. so does this mean that a junior person could upgrade to a jet before the more senoir guy who is on the saab or will they let you out of the seat lock like some other companies do.
also if a junior person is on the jet and a senoir person comes over from the saab, is the senoir person still senoir or do you get hosed.

see ya all on the 30th.

Ah the tinker toys...you will see in CRM how we use them for airline training! I can't give away the surprise! Maybe they don't even use them anymore. One of the recent new hires might have to set me straight.
SWEET. Looking forward for the suprise...

Yes, your first upgrade opportunity will likely be to the Saab. If you upgrade after December 31, you will just be seat locked for 12 months. The 24 month thing is just part of our concessionary TA. The first one into seatlock is the first one out. Seniority is seniority. If the person junior to you is on the jet, their first upgrade will be to the Saab as well.

I got July 2 on the - 900 but I don't believe there is any rhyme or reason, just what they need at the time your number comes up.

tinpusher, what are your times? i have a class in Aug and am wondering if they are puttting high time guys in the jets or how they decided who goes to what plane, my class date they said they have all three planes starting so i could get either three, would it be worthwhile to call and request if i really wanted the 200 in msp?

It's purely your number in the pool. Not your flight time, there are no "chosen ones" for the CRJ. Disregard any other rumor.

so would it be worthwhile to request a plane? and how does your number in the pool affect which plane you get, low numbers on the list get the crj's and high numbers towards the bottom get the saab?

how is your number in the pool determined?
