There is at least a couple of us from the Minneapolis area that will have vehicles, I dont know if anyone is driving in from out of state. Dont know how far the closest store is though.

Things are different in the sim with the bells and lights, then just studying the flashcards in the ESA...from my experience anyway.
Good luck!

1) Bring your Red folder with all the SIM lessons in it. In the back of the binder are all the charts you'll need. You have the option to use your own charts if you want. If you use your own charts, you'll have less clutter in the flightdeck.
2) Bring your gray Systems book that you got from Bombardier and don't stop reading it.
3) Bring your orange POM (the little one).
4) You might want your FOM, but you can live without it.
5) You may have received a couple booklets with your Bombardier kit...one is a "Regional Jet Flight Deck" which is nice for quick lookups and the other is a "Abbreviations and Acronyms"...I would definitely bring that as I used mine often.
6) Your logbook is a good thing to bring along if you want to log the SIM time.
7) Bring your flightdeck mock-up poster.
8) Bring your orange training folder and ensure that you also bring all of your essential documents (i.e. passport, ID, FAA license, medical, etc...)
You don't need anything else really. During your SIM sessions, your instructor will bring a bag containing the speed cards, emergency checklists, and TOLD cards. If you need to stock up on normal checklists, they have them too.
Last bit of advice...don't check the bag that carries your manuals (the contents I listed above). Denver is notorious for lost luggage...they lost all 3 of my bags going out there; which I recovered 4 hours later....and they lost my Purdy Neat bag on the way back to Minny (mailed to me 5 days later).

In Eagan, there are a plethora of places to shop. Many places are within walking distance. We were at the Townplace Suites (Marriott) and there is a Walmart and a grocery store nearby. You could probably convince the shuttle to "make a grocery run" and come pick you up when you're done. We did that in Denver a couple times.

I have to say that I don't know what I would do with without this forum....if this is an indication of the people I will be working with, I can't wait.
Thanks for the info.
PS-Mesaba just updated their website....new routemap for those interested...http://www.mesaba.com/documents/routemap.pdf

Alright everyone, time for me to go ahead and start up the r"oo"mer mill... Theres been a lot of backhanded discussion about a possible nwa, delta merger. Just curious since we're wholly owned what you think could happen. Sorry to be that guy.
